YOGA FIRST. MUSIC ALWAYS
Wanderlust Yoga Austin offers a unique opportunity for yogis and musicians. We host special classes, workshops and events accompanied by live music! Below are a few artists who grace us with their musical talent!
Bree began her DJ career in 2012 as part of the duo FAUX NOIR, opening for acts such as Dillon Francis and Morgan Page. Going solo, DJ Bree Rose found a following in the Milwaukee underground house music scene before making a new home in Austin, TX in late-2014. She still spends summers in the Midwest and plays parties when the sun sets. Genre: Whatever moves dat booty.
There is a new artist in town that is force to be reckoned with. You may not know her yet, but get ready. West Texas-born Sydney Wright has been writing songs for over a decade, and while her huge voice often gets her compared to pop darlings like Florence and the Machine and Sara Bareilles, there’s a darker, more experimental edge to her work. Drawing heavily from hip-hop rhythms, with loops of piano, guitar, beatbox and doo-wops, Wright creates a sonically complex, live-looping, one-woman show. Even listening to just one song off her new debut album, her raw artistry, vulnerability and songwriting prowess speaks volumes.
DJ Cass&Ra (a project of composer + keyboardist Cassie Shankman) is an Austin-based female DJ specializing in health & wellness. She primarily plays a mix of funk, disco and house, but other sets have included classic hip-hop, rap, indie-electronic-pop, club mixes, top-40s, and world music. As a trained musician who understands the musical theory behind songs, Cassie began DJing friends’ house parties, creating a good vibe, and began growing her audience and clients. Even though Cassie DJ’s for many different events, Cassie specializes in DJing for health & wellness clients/events. Her day job is working with the Movement Tracks Project designing original Biomedical Music™ to help people move. She uses her research and findings from testing in DJing to create the perfect sets for movement for her clients, whether it be a morning yoga class or a late-night dance party.

Cory Brim has been an Austin based musician for 9 years, after playing music and going to college in New Orleans. Though classically trained on saxophone at an early age, Cory switched mainly to guitar. Today Cory uses the electric guitar to craft ambient soundscapes focusing heavily on meditative textures. Tranquil and serene, Cory is able to create a calm and peaceful auditory world with washy loops, shining melodies, and reverb soaked chords to accompany the listener into a soothing state of comfort. Cory has a musical versatility, as he is also the guitarist of the Austin heavy metal band, Glassing.
Matt MacDonald is born and raised from Long Island, NY, and found his way to Austin, TX in 2012. The main purpose to travel to Austin was to pursue a life of music, which has been a consistent pulse in his life since the age of 9, when he began to learn the guitar. With two decades of experience, Matt provides a strong, melodic instrumentation, alongside his sultry vocals, to create a relaxing environment that appropriately aligns with yoga instruction.
